Am-Gas manufactures and supplies a Sealed Sour Service Pulley System utilized for the purpose of confining sour vapors to the storage tank. This unit simply prevents gas venting from the area where the cable is brought through the roof of the tank and connects to the level indicator on the exterior. Because of the simplicity of the design, the unit will work in a wide temperature range, giving years of trouble free service.
Safety: Protects battery operators from inhaling noxious fumes when performing daily tasks.
Prevents Pollution: Eliminates noxious gases from escaping through gauge board openings. Gas stays in the vessel and out of the atmosphere, thereby eliminating odors and potential dangers.
Long Last Seal Design: The Sealed Sour Service Pulley system is designed for easy maintenance. The chamber is filled with grease which seals off any vapors from the tank. Greased seals lubricate the cable providing a smooth motion for accurate tank readings. A multi-season grease is used to ensure that the system operates in extreme temperatures. Periodically, the chamber can be resealed easily with a grease gun.
Durable & Easy to Install: The compact, aluminum constructed system makes it easy to install on any existing or new tank. These units can be installed with minimal interruption of daily operations.
Inexpensive: A specialty tool which can be made to fit any tank at an economical cost.
Field Tested: These units have been successfully field tested under extreme conditions for years with virtually no repair and minimal maintenance.
Will the Am-Gas pulley system allow air to enter a tank while the tank is under vacuum? If maintained and in good working order, a sealed sour pulley will seal vapors up to it's designed working pressure of 16 ounces pressure in either direction. Since the thief hatch is designed for typically 4-16 ounces of pressure and 0.4 vacuum, this scenario will not occur if the pulley is properly maintained.
